Government of West Bengal organizes All Faith Prayer Meeting, Gandhi Exhibition

New Delhi, Jan 30: To mark the martyrdom day of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, an all-faith prayer meeting was organized by the Office of the Resident Commissioner, Government of West Bengal, at the West Bengal Information and Cultural Centre here today.

Participants from Guru Harkrishan Public School India Gate, Union Academy Senior Secondary School, Shafiq Memorial Senior Secondary School, Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, Department of Buddhist Studies, University of Delhi, and Indian Social Institute took part in the solemn ceremony, reciting shlokas, religious texts and devotional songs. Swami Dhrubarupananda, monastic member of Ramkrishna Mission, Delhi, also graced the occasion and shared his thoughts. The event concluded with the rendering of “Vaishnava Jana To”.

A day-long photo-exhibition on Mahatma Gandhi — “Path of Buddha and Gandhi for World Peace” — was also organized in association with Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti.

Shri Bhaskar Khulbe, Secretary to the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri R.D. Meena, Officer on Special Duty and Principal Advisor (Public Relations) in the Office of the Resident Commissioner, and Dr Krishna Gupta, Principal Resident Commissioner, graced the event along with other senior officials of the Office of the Resident Commissioner.
